Wireless problems with DD-WRT

So I installed DD-WRT on my WNR3500L today, and noticed for some reason I can't figure out the wireless signal strength appears to be slightly weaker when running DD-WRT as opposed to stock firmware. With 2-3 bars of signal strength the wireless laptop im trying to use is unable to access the internet/lan under DD-WRT (not an issue with stock firmware), when i bring it like 10 steps closer and get 3+ bars of signal strength its fine though. Neither of these problems happened with stock firmware, is there any settings I can adjust to fix this, or is anyone else noticing this issue?

After MUCH trial-and-error I

After MUCH trial-and-error I finally figured out the problem was I changed the "Wireless Network Mode" from the default of "Mixed" to "N Only" and that was causing my Signal Quality to be at 8% instead of 35%.

Really wierd... =o

For some reason now a few

For some reason now a few hours later my previous solution isn't working at all and the origional problem is back, im completly stumped. My laptop appears to be connected at only 1 Mbit/s with 2-3 bars of connectivity too...

Are you running all "N"

Are you running all "N" connections to your router or some "G" and "N" connections? You might try changing the channel width. Or take a look at the advanced settings here. http://192.168.1.1/Wireless_Advanced-wl0.asp

I only have one wireless

I only have one wireless laptop thats "N", ive tried adjusting channel width, channel, and poking around the advanced settings and havn't been able to figure anything out yet.

In that case I would suggest

In that case I would suggest you set your Channel width to 40Nhz. See if that helps.
