geramy is right.... WGR614v7 uses an atheros based wi-fi chipset and WGR614v8 uses a broadcom based wi-fi chipset ...so you need different BSPs and hence different
firmware for the two routers ... U can't upgrade the firmware for one router to work on a different router bcoz chipsets are different and need different BSPs...
my connection to the internet via the router keeps going on and off all the time. When i do connect directly via the broadband modem the reception is fast and great. I have gone thru all the troubleshooting aspects present in the troubling section but to no avail. What else do i need to do. When i connect to other unsecured network it works just fine.
Hi people as i siad wgr614v7 does have bridge mode but its called client mode it also has a reapeter function please dont give your hope up as it only can bridge one pc and securoty type that works is WEP only please refer this to a forum on telnet for this router id like noone to get left out of what there router can do i say to netgear myselfs that there scums and can suck me after they gave no help nor assistance if you need help email me at [email protected] thx
your problem is quite simple here it is the router cant detect its info like ip and dns very well so you want to get those off the router or via ISP support this router can be used better in telnet
