Can someone explain as to how the % in bandwidth add up to greater than 100% in tomato Qos basic setting page? Also, can the Qos be controlled via CLI using say busybox?

Hi Roy,
I have not seen any % for bandwidth in tomato QoS basic setting that extends beyond 100% .... In which case / parameter u r observing this value ...
QoS can be configured via CLI using nvram commands ... the parameters that can be set are qos_ack, qos_burste , qos_orates etc . ... just run a nvram show comaand on the board's console and search for the string "qos_" in the command out
put and u can see all qos parameters that can be configured through CLI/nvram ...
Hi Imaran
Sorry for the late reply. If you add the minimum percentages of all the classes in badnwidth control of the Qos basic pages, it sums up to a number greater than 100. How do one explain that?
Hi roy,
As far as I know in QoS we specify the bandwidth that will be used by each kind of traffic.... It seems in tomato even minimum bandwidth of a class is given assuming that other classes are not using any bandwidth ...
But what happens if all classes are given minimum bandwidth .....
One needs to see the interface of QoS code with GUI to understand this ......
Thanks for all the feedback! Any chance someone out there knows how to port just the Qos portion into an existing router GPL code?
Good day,
I am new in networking,
It would be great help, if you could advice me below matter.
I have bought Netgear WNR3500LV2 and flash with Tomato open source firmware,
It is working perfectly, but we have 30 users,
Is it possible that i can set data limit (limit quota) 2GB per user in router.
appreciate ur help in advance .
