802.1x set up in DD-WRT

Hi all ,

I have flashed my WGR614L with dd-wrt build no. 11205 available on this site .... I have a radius server at my disposal and want to create a set up for 802.1x authentication mechanism using a wireless-adapter as station or client , my WGR614L as authenticator and RADIUS server as authentication server....

Has anybody on this forum already done this .... Could anybody plz tell me how to proceed in this regard ...

Ya buddy,

I have tested RADIUS authentication set up with DD-WRT mini build no . 11205 and it works grt .... If your RADIUS is configured properly then all you need to do is :

1. Go to Wireless/Radius page and give the RADIUS parameters passphrase , server ip etc.

2 . Go to Wireless/Wireless Security and select security mechanism as WPA or WPA2 or RADIUS (I am mentinonig these bcoz till now I have done my testing only for these security mechanisms ) , also cofigure corresponding RADIUS parameters.....

Click apply settings and ur AP is ready to act as a RADIUS client ....

Well I have tested it with WPA/WPA2 enterprise with PEAP/EAP-MSCHAPv2  till now .... It should support other mechanism also becuse for them we need to modify some configuration files on the RADIUS side and it has nothing to do with DD_WRT running on your board (AP)....

I chose PEAP/EAP-MSCHAPv2 over others for simplicity of set up .... You should know for PEAP/EAP-MSCHAPv2 we only need to install a TLS certificate on the RADIUS server and there is no need of any certificate on the client side ...

Hope this will clarify you ... :)
