Can I connect a USB hub to the USB port of the WNR3500L? I would like to have multiple NAS Ext HDDs.
1x WD WD20000H2Q-00 My Book Studio Edition II 2TB (PC)
2x WD WD3200ME-01 My Passport Essential NTFS (PC)
1x WD WDBAAA3200-BK-NESN My Passport Essential HFS+ (MAC)
And how about attaching a printer to that same USB hub along with the 4 ext HDDs. Anyone? Doctor?
I attached a passive (non powered) 4 port USB hub to mine, so far both the printer and the USB stick is found. However, there might be a limit to how much power the onboard USB controller can supply as well as how many devices it can handle. Be aware that pulling too much power through the chipset might damage it.

And why not? Sharing a printer on the LAN or running a printserver on your WNR3500L and attaching NAS to it has very little in common.
I got the router in the mail the other day.
Last night, I attached my 4 external WD HDDs. Only one was recognized. I didn't even bother with the printer. I feel like I'd be wasting my time.
You are running stock firmware, right? You'll need dd-wrt on it.
Even direct connect, without the hub, only the WD WDBAAA3200-BK-NESN My Passport Essential HFS+ is recognized by the stock firmware. I'm downloading dd-wrt and will report back with an update.
No report except that switching to dd-wrt bricked my router. Waiting for cable to arrive from Mouser.
I've read elsewhere on this forum that dd-wrt has poor USB HDD sharing. I guess I won't know until late next week. Grrrrrrr. Perhaps I'll try Paragon.
