Orange power led in tomato: is it a firmware problem or did I do something wrong?

Hello

I flashed my 3500L with Tomato beta07 and the router works fine. However, I reset the router many times and the power led is still orange. Is this normal or did I do someting wrong?

My Power Led with Beta 7 is

My Power Led with Beta 7 is orange also. Must be something with that firmware. Personally I don't really worry about the LED colors. But I have been meaning to look into the LEDS, the GPIO settings for the LEDs with Beta 07 but just have not had a chance to do so yet.

If you do I would love to hear about your results.

Power LED should be green. This would not make any affect on firmware's behavior. But anyway we need to solve this problem. Thank you for raising issue. If you solve it then I would love to know that.

You can see his latest led code change here.

Has anyone noticed if this

Has anyone noticed if this problem exists in other versions of Tomato? I wonder what the problem is.. hm.

Thank you all for your

Thank you all for your support and help. I thought it was a problem with the procedure I followed in installing tomato. And I am glad that the problem will be resolved soon.

So now we know for sure that

So now we know for sure that the issue is just an incorrect color assignment and not anything else?

there's nothing else wrong

there's nothing else wrong besides the wrong lighting. you can get the orange part (the power indicator is actually two leds - one green and one orange) to disappear by doing "gpio disable 7" on the router. i've written to teddy_bear about leds as he hasn't got a wnr himself, but i guess it sorta went under.

@ bog, could you explain how

@ bog, could you explain how to do that myself because I don't think the problem is such a priority for tomato programmers?

in your router's tomato webif, go to tools -> system and enter "gpio disable 7" into the large textbox. then hit "execute".

as i said, it's just a cosmetic bug and from what i've read, teddy_bear has already made changes to the behavior in the latest git snapshot, so the next beta probably has proper LED behavior.

bog,

bog,
That's what I saw too. I don't think he has a 3500L to test with. It would be great if netgear sent him one to use as a test model.

bog,

bog,
thanks for the trick and the good news. The power LED is green now.

I tried Beta10. While the power LED works fine, the Internet LED is now orange and the wireless LED has been turned off. I will wait for the final release of tomato for WNR3500L to upgrade from Beta7.
