I have a 1 TB Fantom Greendrive I've been using for a while with no complaints. Yesterday I installed the Netgear WNR3500L and connected the drive to the router via USB instead of directly to my computer. All my computers now see the drive as a network share, but I've run into an odd problem.
I now see all the hidden files and folders on the USB drive. I've gone into the settings via my Windows 7 machine and made sure they're marked as hidden, and made sure that Don't show hidden files, folder, and drives is checked.
This is appearing on my Windows 7 machine and my Ubuntu machine, so I think the problem is originating from the router (when the drive was connected directly to the Windows 7 machine the hidden folders were hidden, like I want them to be).
I am using the Netgear firmware V1.0.2.26_30.0.98NA.
Anyone have any ideas?
I guess this is due to the fact, that the ntfs module for linux does not honour all ntfs flags.
So it's the router which cannot see the flags? Is there a way around this?
I cannot tell for sure if netgear standard firmware is using ntfs-3g to read ntfs filesystems, but I would be surprised if this is not the case.

Which outlines the problem. Therefore the used ntfs-3g version is the problem.
