After looking around doens't

After looking around doens't seem like many devices stream to the xbox360 like the pogoplug.
Is there a way to get this router with ddwrt or tomato to stream videos to xbox360

Can you test something?

Can you test something?

Login to the router via ssh using putty or any other ssh client.
Then edit /tmp/minidlna.conf and change:

presentation_url=http://192.168.1.1:8888/index.php

to

presentation_url=http://192.168.1.1:8200/

(you have have a different ip) after that stop minidlna:

killall minidlna

execute command:

ps

to see if minidlna is not in the process list anymore, in case it is, stop it with:

kill -9 pid

where pid is the process number you see from ps output

then start it again:

/usr/sbin/minidlna -R -f /tmp/minidlna.conf

does your xbox360 now see the media server?

You did not show me the

You did not show me the output of command:

mount

But since there is a folder with "System Volume Information" I assume this is an ntfs drive. But it does not display any other data on it. Sure this partition holds the music files? Maybe this drive has multiple partitions?

What is displayed under Services->USB->Disk Info

Okay that's what I expected

Okay that's what I expected there are indeed 2 partitions on this drive, maybe the first partition was some kind of recovery partition.
The mountpoint shows that this 100MB partitions gets mounted and of course this partition does not hold your media files.

For dd-wrt the default behaviour is to mount only the first partition, multiple partitions are currently not supported by automount.

If you don't need the 100MB partition you could just delete it using a partition tool like: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php

another way would be to place a script on the 100MB partition that mount the second partition to another mountpoint like /opt.

Thanks for that I was able to

Thanks for that I was able to delete the partition Not sure how that happened.
My xbox360 listed DD-WRT and I went to connect look like it was scanning then said was unable to connect. check firewall etc..

I rebooted everything now DD-WRT is not listed

I think DLNA is not working what command can I use to see if it is running or how to restart it

john6699
john6699's picture
update I issued this command

update I issued this command

/usr/sbin/minidlna -R -f /tmp/minidlna.conf

And it is up and running streaming my MP4 and AVI.

I did reboot my router and I still had to issue that command.

Nice thank you I will update with any issues

john6699

Still working great I watched

Still working great I watched a couple avi files without any issues last night.

I have a question about setup
Update interval what is this for and how do you set it up

I assume it is to scan HDrive

I have to keep issuing this command after rebooting router
/usr/sbin/minidlna -R -f /tmp/minidlna.conf
