How to convert a Tomato .trx file to a Tomato .chk file to be compatible with the 3500L?

Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty new to all this open source router business, and I was upset to find that a usb printer on the wireless was not support by the netgear firmware.

I would like to have this option available and have come accross Tomato.

I have followed all the guides and instructions, but have not found anything which clearly explains how to convert a .trx to a .chk.

Please can I have a detailed explanation, step by step, on how to convert this, or a link to a pre-converted file.

Thanks.

Jack

Why do you need converting

If you flash first a mini dd-wrt image, then you flash directly the Tomato after renaming it to .bin (not sure).

Some people have recompiled Tomato to be able to flash it directly from stock firmware, as it can be done if your image has

I can't remember where I saw it but Google has a strong memory. I personnaly used the mini_dd-wrt then Tomato method (a long time ago) and all was flawless.

I used the mini DD-WRT (.chk) and then uploaded the BIN file. Thanks.
