I am planning on getting the WNR3500L but I also want to get a serial adapter while I am at it.
I read the debricking guide and it doesn't offer a pinout for the serial adapter, it just goes on the cable colors.
the adapter linked on the page is $20, which is the most expensive I have ever seen a basic serial adapter
I am interested in this serial adapter (it does the correct voltage and seems to have the correct connectors but I cant know for sure unless I can get a labeled pinout for what the router needs
http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-2-0-TTL-UART-6PIN-CP2102-Module-Serial-Converter...
the link in the guide was http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/FTDI/TTL-232R-3V3/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvYU0...
when I went to buy one, it listed the price as $20
the one on ebay seems much cheaper while offering similar functions, I was hoping to get something like that then get the pinout. for the debricking guide shown here
http://www.myopenrouter.com/article/13859/How-To-Debrick-Your-NETGEAR-WN...
the author referred to the pinout by wire color and not be things such as txd, rxd and so on
Maybe this picture from this article http://www.myopenrouter.com/article/15818/Easy-Serial-Cable-Connection-H...
will help.
