Hi,
I used MM8430 antenna connector. It have 8pin in reference design. but,MM8430-2610 datasheet have six pin only. These all six pin is matching properly with reference design and 7 and 8 pin is not there in datasheet.please give me solution for this. I have to leave this two pin(7 abnd 8) or any other datasheet is there for this antenne.
Thanks & Regards
V.N.Rajagopal.

Dear V.N.Rajagopal,
It is best to show what you are trying to achieve.
May be you should post a link where the picture is downloaded for everyone to view what connectors you are having.
Then only, someone can help you out here.
But, I suggest your first contact is to get in touch with your supplier for
assistance. As, I am not a RF enginneer, just an enthusiastist.
Cheers
can u email me or post where you can get these cables and what is the name of the cable and what kind of connectors i need and what kind of antenna that one? 9dbi?
Please let me know. I am planning to buy them.
I bought WNR3500L. Have not opened it yet. Wondering whetehr to buy WNR3700 because it say it has more power to transmit to go multiple floors.
Pls advise.
You can buy a mod kit for Netgear WNR834B. It should work for Netgear WNR3500L. You still need to solder the wire on the board. It's not the cheapest but the price is reasonable and it's convenient.

Dear mr_chen,
I have to say that these RF connectors are not the normal U.FL connectors.
This is a fact, and confirmed from dd-wrt community forum.
These connector are murata connectors, it won't accept U.FL connectors.
Thank you.
That's why I did put a note that you still need to solder the wire to the board! It's almost impossible to find murata connectors. So you use U.FL connectors and solder it to the board.
Errr......... how to solder the U.FL connector to a murata connector?
Can you describe how you can achieve this?
Thanks.
Like what Incognit0 did! Cut the U.FL connector off and solder on the board. You did comment on his post right? The U.FL connector is not important in this mod. And I did write "You still need to solder the wire on the board," I didn't say U.FL connector. And please don't have an attitude when posting.
Dear Sir,
With all due respect, I think you might have misunderstood what I am getting at.
I am not trying to be a smart ass here with an attidude problem. I thought you may have a new technique of soldering the U.FL connector straight into the murata connector. Did you get it???
Your comment said it all, you need cut of the U.FL connector. Correct very true.
If you need to cut off the U.FL connector then why not.........buy a kit that it does not
have the U.FL connector.
Well, I strongly recommend folks to search at eBay and find an open end/ non terminated pigtail RF cable with RP-SMA connector on the other end will do the job just fine.
To me, cutting of the U.FL connector is just plain waste of money for this project, or unless you got lots of $$$ to splash out.
That is all.
Thank you.
should this cable be fine for WNR3500L?

i dont want sold the cable if i can avoid it thx
is this connector good for netgear WNR3500L?thx

Hi Mattia,
First of all, I am not an EXPERT here, I can only give advice that might be
incorrect. So you are FOREWARNED and you are taking your risk. And things
may not turn out as you expect. If you understand this part, you can read on
further. If not, please consult the DD-WRT community by joining the forum.
The RF cable is correct. That is a RP-SMA connector at 1 end for installing an
antenna of your choice. But are you trying to solder or plug in with the murata socket on the router board? If you are soldering then, just buy a RF cable at eBay with the RF cable that has RP-SMA connector at 1 end and other end is open
(no connector)
Regards,
im trying to avoid solder,,i will try with a u.fl connector,,if it doesnt fit ill cut it off and just sold it to the PCB,, but i keep this as last choice
I guess I found the answer but yzy-oui does not talk about soldering. I wish they could explain little better how they put those connectors? Also, does it matter what kind of antenna? b/g or n, does it matter? I thought antenna was antenna.

Edit: I guess I found the Murata. Are these the right things to buy?

hello,
i'm sorry to answer so late, i was very busy and i don't saw this thread
connectors ar U.Fl kind.
you could clip connectors with your fingers, be sure male is in front of femal, and push it strongly until you feel it clip. I know this seems scary but this the way i did it an it works.
As soon i will get time i will make a small video that show this.
Yes Mico this are the right pigtails
yzy-oui-fi,
Thanks for the reply. To clarify, the one I found and asked if they are the right kind are indeed Murata type which everybody says it is the type on the board of the 3500L.
However, you are saying the ones on the board are indeed U.FL kind and it just needs to be pushed in strongly.
One question for you, is the one on the board male or female U.FL/Murata?
Thanks!
the male is onboard and the female is the pigtail
this is pigtail side:

this one is board side:

Thank you. I do not know how this is possible but the one you show on the board the male one is different than what I have on my board. Mine is female on the board. Not the same.
Very strange.
Can someone confirm with me that these are OK to buy for the WNR3500L? I am not talking about the fit (Murata or U.FL), I can solder but I am talking about the antenna type (is this okay for N router?). Is this 3 x 5dbi gain will make a difference?
Frequency Range(MHz)890-960/1710-2150

Thanks!
I wonder how to tell if the antenna is suitable for wnr3500l/N routers.
It should say 2412 Mhz - 2472Mhz and/or any other thing is needed?
ive bought this:
http://www.rfsupplier.com/24ghz-5dbi-omni-wifi-antenna-wireless-router-p...
and these pigtails: i thought they fit on router's board but they dont,,u must sold em all
http://www.rfsupplier.com/female-pigtail-cable-113mm-p-312.html
Hope to help ya ;D
Thank you! What is the outcome? Was it worth it?
Also, the both links you post, they are both female. How did you connect them together both being female? I am little confused, sorry.
Yeh it sound strange,,but thats the only way,,you have to cut off the pigtail on the smaller side,,on the other it fits perfectly with the antenna,,
Sorry not for being more clear.
The RP-SMA connector with pigtail in your link is female, the antenna's RP-SMA is also female. How can you connect both females?
I know, the pigtail part I need to solder it. That's not what I am talking about.
I've seen this forum for the info and it works like a charm for me,so i dont know why,but you can link each other even if it written both female,,
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=49272&postdays=0&postorder=...
Thank you for that link.
Hi
Thank you all for sharing the great information :)
I'm about to do the antenna mod, and I'm going to solder the pictailes.
I'm not sure how, I'm going do disconnect the onboard antenna's.
Is it easy to snap off the murata connector without destroying anything?
Where excatly should I drill a hole, if I'm going that way - to the excisting small holes? If not please illustrate :)
Another solution would be to snap off the small capacitors right before the anboard antenna's - would that be a good solution?
Thank you
Here is to small video that could help you with WNR3500L
How to remove U.Fl:

How to set it:

Dear yzy-oui-fi,
Thank you for all your help. However, there is one thing I do not understand (probably some are like me). The connector on your board is different than what most have. You say you use U.FL connector WITHOUT soldering. You just snapped and it went right in but people are saying here that you need Murata connector to do the job without soldering.
Am I wrong here people or I am just being silly?
Again, yzy-oui-fi. Thank you for all your hard work.
