SSH Login Help (SOLVED)

I hope this is a simple one to solve.

I have a vanila installation of DD-WRT Kong Mod 18010M with only the GUI Username changed to [Myname], GUI Password changed to [Mypassword] and the router's Local IP Address set to 10.88.0.1.

I have enabled SSH with password login. I then use putty.exe (on Win XP) to SSH access the router on 10.88.0.1. I am then asked for a login name and password.

What login name and password do I use to access my router via SSH?

Myabe I did not explain this clearly before. To use your own reference...

When the SSH terminal asks for your user, please enter [Myname] (same user name as the Web GUI user name), when it asks you for a password, please enter [Mypassword] (same password as the Web GUI password).

Not quite right.

Not quite right.

I found that the login name must be [root] and the password is [MyPassword] (i.e., the password I use to log into the router's GUI).

Now I have SSH access!

That goes to show me... since

That goes to show me... since I never use a different username, I did not know that... I assumed and you know what happened. :)

Thanks for sharing the experience.

Nice find! I'm actually working on a Buffalo WZR-NH-G300NH2 because the lack of antennas or antenna connectors makes the WNDR3500 useless except at very close quarters... which is too bad, because the WNDR was easier to deal with. Been tearing my hair out trying to log in, tried my web longin, the default dd-wrt login, but never would have thought to try "root' and my web password, because it hust doesn't make sense. You have to wonder what genius thought it should work like that.
