Availability of WNR3500Lv2

Hi Everyone,

Quick summary: I have decided a Netgear WNR3500Lv2 would be the best replacement router for me, but I can't seem to find one anywhere!  Does anyone have a source to buy this router?  I can find the v1 on newegg (for fairly cheap!), but I wasn't sure if I should hold out and get the v2.  All I want is something so my roommate and I can both play on xbox live reliably without interruptions and disconnects.

Here's some backstory on my issues with the WRT54GL:

I am currently running Tomato on a Linksys WRT54GL but have been having random issues with it in the past 3-4 months.  I have since gained a roommate and we both have Xbox Live, but the router can't seem to handle it.  I get disconnected from XBL and kicked out of Call of Duty games and XBL party chats whether we are both online or just me.  I've tried using uPNP, forwarding ports to each xbox, and also tried implementing QoS in the Tomato interface.  All attempts were unable to stop the disconnects/kicks from XBL.

Also we've been having random packet loss when browsing the web, where pages fail to load from time to time but load fine when you refresh (it has gotten worse in the past 2 weeks).  I can also download files at the full speed of our cable connection (roughly 19Mbps down/4Mbps up) without problems.

I think its the router failing? (I've had it for about 2 years)

Thanks for any help/tips on where to find the v2 (if necessary).

Cheers!

CTN

Anyone with info about where

Anyone with info about where to buy this in the UK. Checked all online stores I know about and even a lot I never heard about before but no luck. Can only find v1 (32Mb Ram or 64Mb.. Does the 64Mb actually exists) no 128Mb.. Checked all stores that netgear website refers to.. Seems this simply doesn't exist in the UK (or maybe that this is a simple issue of poor labelling and not updating the specs by resellers...)

Any info greatly appreciated..

Thanks

Jeffry, thanks for the

Jeffry, thanks for the detailed info. I went over to Staples today and picked up a 3500L for $69, but it turned out to be a v1 instead of a v2. Newegg has the v1 on sale for $55 right now, so I may just return this one and order from the 'egg for $20 cheaper and save the sales tax...oh well. I guess this v2 is just a dream lol.

There are plenty of them at

There are plenty of them at polish bidding site allegro and I see they are also available at few Internet shops here. Shipping to UK should not be expensive.

Hey Yo, Fry's website says it

Hey Yo, Fry's website says it's 64Mb:

"High Performance Broadcom 480 MHz MIPS? 74K CPU, 8 MB Flash and 64 MB RAM to even run business-class applications"

Is that the one you meant? (has the same sku you mentioned). Does not seem v2.

Thanks

Agreed.. Right now only going

Agreed.. Right now only going by the RAM size as that seems to e the accurate bit. But not sure if the resellers do update their spec page to reflect this.
