I'm running the KingKong

I'm running the KingKong nv60k build on an E4200. I haven't tried Zabbix yet and I don't use SIP.

OpenVPN appears to be fully working in this build! The update to the brand-new OpenVPN 2.3 is nice, and executing "openvpn --show-ciphers" shows that the default OpenVPN cipher (Blowfish, "BF-CBC") is present in this build (it wasn't in the experimental Kong19545).

One important issue, though:

The official DD-WRT builds are using the latest version of OpenSSL, version 1.0.1c, which was released 9 months ago (see http://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/19244/ ), but Kong20500 is using OpenSSL version 0.9.7m, which is 6 years old.

And some minor glitches:

1. I have a USB flash drive with three partitions: an ext2 partition called "Optware", a swap partition, and an ext2 partition called "Mnt". This flash drive worked perfectly in Kong19545 and was properly dismounted and unplugged before upgrading to Kong20500, then reattached. It still works fine, but in NAS.asp my choices for each share's path are "-", "/opt", "/mnt", and "/mnt" -- I see TWO "/mnt" choices, but I expected to see only one.

2. In PPTP.asp, in the OpenVPN Server/Daemon configuration, there appears to be a mistake in the third parameter's wording. The parameter is "Config as", with two choices: "Server" and "Daemon". Judging from the behavior of the GUI when that parameter is configured, I believe that the parameter should be called "Config via", and the two choices should be "GUI" (replacing "Server") and "Config File" (replacing "Daemon").

3. In Services.asp, the "Zabbix Client" option defaults after a 30-30-30 reset to having NEITHER radio button selected. Also, the "Zabbix Server IP" box is always shown, even when the option is set to "Disable"; this behavior is not consistent with the behavior of similar options on that page (e.g., "Syslogd").

But as I said, those are minor issues. So far, this build looks like a winner.

Oh, and one more thing:

Oh, and one more thing: Wireless performance, especially at 5 GHz, seems to be much improved.

I haven't performed any sort of controlled testing, and maybe today is just a good day for interference-free WiFi communications here... But the signal-strength graphs and SNR numbers on the Wireless Status page are all higher than with build 19545, and wireless speeds -- informally measured by copying files across the WLAN -- are noticeably better than before.

Has any of the radio code changed in this build, or is the improvement just a coincidence?

Hi fastfwd,

Hi fastfwd,

how did you determine, that an old openssl is included. I'm using the latest openssl, which can be checked by running command:

strings /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0 | grep '1.0'

The only explanation could be, that you got this info from a specific app, that was statically linked against openssl and hasn't been updated in a long time. Once I know which one it is I clean and rebuild it.

There was no change in terms of radio, should be just as good/bad as 19545:-)

Anyways, nice feedback. I'm still working on the zabbix integration which may add some more things that can me monitored.

Hi Kong,

Hi Kong,

A big thanks for this release, it's working perfectly on Linksys E3200 and OpenVPN 2.3 is quite stable :)

One question, do you think it would be possible to have one day the kingkong nv60k build for the NetGear WNR3500L V2 ? it would be so wonderfull since V1 are no more available.

Best Regards,
RCK

P2P Tab (under NAT/QoS) doesn't work and loads a blank web page. I'm not sure what settings are there because they cannot be seen.

@RCK, as dd-wrt does not yet

@RCK, as dd-wrt does not yet include the latest broadcom drivers for the v2 I cannot create builds for it unless I patch the kernel myself, but that requires a test unit. Since the v2 is not very attracting to me I would not get one just to play with it. I'm rather looking into an R6300, which would probably be able to drive samba4.

@Gorby, P2P Tab? Do you have a screenshot?

GorbyRulez

I cannot figure out this

I cannot figure out this silly-a$$ed file upload procedure for my screenshot, sorry. If you click on NAT/QoS tab then 7 sub-tabs appear (port forwarding, DMZ etc...) and the one on the far right is P2P. The URL (on my router) is http://192.168.1.1/P2P.asp

If I can somehow send you the gif file let me know although you should not need it as it's just a whited-out IE page with no visible info.

Kong

@Gorby,

@Gorby,

P2P.asp is not included in any of my builds, so either the flash did not complete and your are still on some other build, or you have a third party webservice page on your usb drive.

Check the build name on the web interface status page, if it says: build 20500M
you got my latest build. If it still shows a P2P.asp disconnect usb devices and try again.

Do you still have the problem with double /mnt entry, even after reboot?

The choice box in proftpd webif currently can have 3 entries, you said you have -,/opt,/mnt,/mnt etc. in this case if you choose the 4th entry it will not accept it. I can of course raise the max choices to 4 or more, but the double /mnt entry should not be there in the first place. Are you using any optware mount scripts?

GorbyRulez

I've never run anything but

I've never run anything but Kong Mod on this router since originally flashed from factory Netgear f/w...you may want to double check the build if it matters because there's no other way it could have arrived. No USB devices are connected (or ever have been) and it shows 20500M (see below)

Router Name
WNR3500L
Router Model
Netgear WNR3500 v2/U/L v1
Firmware Version
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/25/13) stdkong - build 20500M

FYI - O&O

Thank you Mr Kong for your fast reply .... but the point is not have many options .. If i choose one of displayed option , when i press SAVE or APPLY , the option that i choose returns to the previous one ..This happens  just in Proftpd ( file directories ) ... Same thing in Samba share works perfectly ..

No , i am not using optware mount scripts ...

@Gorby,

@Gorby,

I already grepped through all of my published builds, at least on my buildmachine they don't contain a reference to it.

can you do a quick check, logon via ssh and run command:

strings /etc/www | grep P2P.asp

It should come up empty while:

strings /etc/www | grep NAS.asp

will give a result

@STALonge,

ok I'll look into it.

SSS Management is a grayed

SSS Management is a grayed out radio button and set to "Disable" and I cannot change it, I guess that why my Putty login fails. Not very familiar with Linux/Unix...as it sits now I guess I cannot proceed (unless I'm missing something)

In that case use Administration->Commands and enter the above commands.

@STALonge,

@STALonge,

ok, just found the problem, the nvramconfig file changed. Since ddwrt handles this selecting box as a box of choices with values 1,2,3 it fails. My box sends a string with possible directories that were dynamically taken from mount paths.

Will be fixed once I recompile and update the builds.

OK, so definitely the P2P.asp does not come from the flashed build in addition to that the grep NAS.asp should return this part:

<% do_menu("Services.asp", "NAS.asp"); %>
...

This part generates the NAS.asp tab, you can click on.

I've flashed to 20500 build my router says DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/25/13) stdkong
how do I setup my router to stream movies to my wifi tv if I plug an external hard drive into my Linksys E3000?

Reverted to 19545 and P2P tab

Reverted to 19545 and P2P tab disappeared (had never seen it in that or any prior build). Reflashed 20500M and the non-functioning P2P tab returned, if it matters.

Hi Kong.

Hi Kong.

Thank you very much for your hard work on updating our Routers! Very much appreciated!

Today I tried updating to 25000, but it seems to mess up my routing, so I cannot conntect to the Internet anymore. I did not reset NVRAM, because I don't want to though :)
Anybody has the same problem or a fix?

Can I provide Debug information to help fixing it, Kong?

Thanks again!

Hi Kong,

Hi Kong,
First of all thank you for all your work for our model router!
I finally got around to trying aftermarket firmware on my router; something I've meant to do for years.

I apologize if this is a known issue, but I can't get the Wiviz survey to work? It opens, and displays the rotating grid cube per usual, but all I get are dots - no wireless devices show up. It seems to operate OK, and the normal Site survey works.

On this FTP Site, there is a bin called "usb-ftp-samba3-vpn-nv64k-broadcom", I tried installing this bin file to a ASUS RT-N66U with Fractal's 20363 build and it returns with a browser error, I also tried it with a Merlin build installed to the router and still no go. Is the above bin for a specific router?.

Thanks.

in order to see whats wrong I need to see the output of:

cat /tmp/.ipt

iptables -L

@BlaSTiWi,

I'll have a look at it. Which build are you using, dlna/vpn?

@Protonus,

yes Wiviz hasn't been working in a long time. It's a problem in the binary broadcom drivers.

@rocky13,

if you flash from dd-wrt then you normally don't need a reouter specific build and all 64k builds should work. I can upload specific rt-n66u builds next time that come with a certain signature.
