No output in Status|OpenVPN after enabling openVPN client

I enabed OpenVPN client and restarted router. In Status|OpenVPN there's no content in any of the three sections - State, Status, Log.

I tried with two Netgear WNR3500Lv1 routers, one running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/03/12) vpnkong - build 18050M and the other running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/31/12) vpnkong - build 19545M.

What's the source of information for State, Status and Log sections mentioned above?

How can I check that OpenVPN client started succsessfully?

Anyone?

Check your public ip. If it

Check your public ip. If it is different than what you had before running OpenVPN client that means its not working, if you see a different public ip(external ip) than your OpenVPN is working properly.

Check your ip address http://www.ip-secrets.com/

I've never had much luck with

I've never had much luck with those status screens myself. They never seemed to work on the 3500Lv2 that I have, and in fact it hangs on my R6300 running the newest DD-WRT build.

I usually just do what mmajunkie suggests and check my IP using whatismyip.com or a similar site. (I check often anyway just to make sure everything is working well)

You should also be able to run "ps | grep vpn" (without quotes of course) in the Administration -> Commands screen. Again, this has never really worked for me, so I'm guessing mileage varies based on router and build.
