This Router is super.

I purchased it a few weeks ago and I could not be happier. Yes, 200 bucks is crazy, but I attribute that to the RAM and CPU being $100 of that:) It does it all, I mean all. I have not had one DNLA glitch. My S4 screams on the higher band. The signal is awesome, put bars to Five in places my other Netgear and Linksys products pushed 3, 400-800 feet away. It is true that the 5ghz or ac does not have the signal distance of the 2.4, but the speed is well worth it.

If you are thinking about it, stop. I thought about if for about 4 monthsand then faked my other router to be broken :) have a Linksys with that WW-DRT a 2,4 Yagi that I beamed Internet to the kid across the street. Not sure if I want to give up one of these three antenas, so will probably bridge (I have no idea what I am talking about) or make and AP and hope I can still do what I want to do.

VeryPleased. The reason I did not go with the Asus, very fine product, equal or maybe better features, Asus is aweful for tech support, trust me, it is the only laptop I will buy...Just do not expect them to move very fast on tickets when you are in need of help. BUY THIS ROUTER.

Do think twice before buying

Do think twice before buying this router.
Using Firmware Version V1.0.3.56_1.1.25

Pros:
WiFi signals 10dB stronger than with my previous Billion Router AP.

Cons:
No SSH console.
Reboots each time a configuration is changed.
Very limited configuration options.

If you need more than playing games.
Think twice, or get other firmware (which might negate other advantages).

There a few of these showing

There a few of these showing up in the RepublicWireless.com community. (Hybrid WiFi-Cell). They (Republic)use a standard SIP, except use 5090 vs 5060, and for most routers SIP ALG(Application Level Gateway) has to be turned off (it's on by default)...you might try that.

Love this router. My traffic

Love this router. My traffic speeds are blazing. I paired it up with an Eidimax range extender for my family upstairs. The only hitch I have had to this point was with my Eidimax AC1200 USB adapter on my laptop. The 5ghz would drop over and over and over. When it did work it was just stupid fast. But online games, torrents or opening up a bunch of internet pages would crash the connection to the router. So in the latest update everything was completely fixed. 5ghz now is solid when gaming and downloading all at once. Highly recommended.

This seems to be an excellent

This seems to be an excellent router for many people but buyers should beware of USB 3.0 + NAS related issues. Some users are reporting corrupted data on the OEM firmware (possibly related to Netgear speed-up hacks for FAT32/NTFS), meanwhile it hasn't been working well on custom DD-WRT and Tomato builds either, much slower, drop outs, etc. It seems to be best with DD-WRT and an Ext4 formatted drive however that won't work well for Windows users.

I was personally hoping this would be a good USB 3.0 / NAS solution until I eventually get a separate NAS box, it's not looking to be good the case at least right now. I suppose this almost makes sense considering the idiocy of putting the USB 3.0 port on the front, it was almost as if they are saying "don't use often". Hopefully the situation improves.

I am VERY LIMITED in my

I am VERY LIMITED in my knowledge about the Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Router.
History: have Verizon as my carrier
keep dropping internet signal because Verizon's modem is not strong enough to handle the #
of items that are "pulling" on the signal
Suggested I get the Nighthawk because of the stronger signal
using the Verizon unit as a source to the internet and using the Nighthawk as being capable of
doing the faster and smarter device!(and the wireless signal has been turned off in Verizons
router so as not to have a conflict of the routers!!
But: it still keeps dropping the internet!!

SORRY I am so confused and hope someone can (come down to my level). and explain a way to solve this problem short of GIVING UP!!
Thank you very much in advance.
