Before I upgraded to Kong's firmware, my speeds were ranging from 179-190 mbps. Since upgrading, my speeds have slowed down to around 25 mbps. Is there something somewhere in the settings that I need to change? Thanks in advance for any help.

What version of the Kong firmware are you using? I was using version 24045 and my router was working great. I then upgraded to the latest version 24170 and noticed an immediate slowdown. I tried several reboots etc before going back to the 24045. After returning to the 24045 my router is blazing fast again, kicks the crap out of the Netgear firmware!
I have to assume there is something wrong with the 24175 firmware, at least as it is applied on the 6300v2 router. I know I am replying in the R7000 forum, but for some reason the 6300v2 forum is completely dead.
FYI - I use dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD_NEWD.bin.
having the same issue where can i found that version?....thanks
You can find the newest releases here;

thanks which is the release that improved your wireless speed if you dont mind only getting 23mbps after latest firmware
24345M is working great for me. I have been using the OLDD variation, but that is because the NEWD variation wont let you make changes to the TX power. To elaborate, the NEWD lets you change the TX power selection, it just doesn't actually use your selection. Kong is investigating why not. If the standard power output is ok for you then either version of the firmware should work fine.
thanks for your help I was going to return the router today but after installing the newest kong K3 it has been working better today not dropping the internet but the speed is really slow ....if you dont mind how do I increase the TX power under what settings?
thanks again
I just test my new R7000 in the LAN and found some stranges.
With the stock firmware I got 1Gbit in the gateway mode and approx 500Mbit in the access point mode.
With DD-WRT Kong build v24200 the maximum speed was a bit below 300Mbit.
With Tomato v120 the maximum speed near 470Mbit.
The results is really strange for me. Custom firmware can get only a half of power ???
p.s. all speeds for wire connections.
