Since updating to 24500M on my R7000 I've had constant spontaneous crashes on my router.
Runs fine for a few hours and then for no reason that I can put my finger on it just suddenly reboots.
Seems to happen whilst streaming a movie or just web browsing. Nothing in particular that I could point to as being the cause.
I'm going back to 24200M as it is a big enough problem since I can't even get all the way though a streaming movie without it crashing.
Did you try to do 30-30-30 reset and possibly re-flash the firmware?
Yeah...cleared the NVRAM and reflashed a couple of times to be sure. Loaded all the setting from scratch.
One other posting from another user that also claims that 24500 has been unstable for them.
By the way, the 30-30-30 does not work with the R7000. You can either use the "factory defaults" button or clear the NVRAM from console.
24500 is having problem with WiFi 2.4 higher channels and is causing reboots. Try to disable 5GHz and Set CH 1 on 2.4GHz, then try to enable 5GHz again.

Phase 1: web GUI becomes unbearably slow
phase 2: I lose traffic
phase 3 : ssid visible but nothing will connect
manual reboot.
One time it went for 5 days, other days every hour.
Try this as it can be related (at least potentially) to your issue: http://www.myopenrouter.com/forum/thread/56675/Kong-24500-external-USB-H...
