I've recently installed kong's build 24865M with transmission on my Netgear R7000.
I'm trying to figure out if there is a simple way of forcing transmission to operate on the OpenVPN client tunnel I have setup in DD-WRT.
I've tried searching, but can't make much sense of the iptables rules.
Any suggestions?
Hi
Have you gotten the transmission to work successfully.
Yeah, Transmission works just fine.
It sort of hogs some RAM if you get it going over a couple of MB/sec, but the CPU usage is still under 30%.
Still no luck on the iptables and given the nature of the beast, I'd like to be certain I'm not leaking traffic or my host IP address out.
Would you mind posting your settings via a picture or instructions.
Settings for what?
Transmission works pretty much "out of the box" with the BT builds, as long as you have an EXT3 partition mounted to either /jffs or /opt, enable Transmission and give it a folder to reside in.
I don't know where to begin with the iptables (assuming that's the correct option), as I have not dabbed into that world in a while, and this isn't the type of thing I want to guess on.
It seems that it has the ability to know certain protocols (Bittorrent being one of them), but I don't feel that will be all-encompassing of the packets that Transmission will use to sniff out trackers and peers.
