WNR3500Lv2 tomato USB 1.28 shows wrong port status

Hi,

for my WNR3500Lv2 - with 32 MB Flash (not 128) I have downloaded tomato-Netgear-3500Lv2-K26USB-1.28.RT-N5x--140-AIO and it works well (after I have resettet it after download). I only have seen that the headlines in Status->Overview->Ethernet Ports State are a bit wrong.

It is written WAN, LAN1, LAN2, LAN3, LAN4 but it should be WAN, LAN4, LAN3, LAN2, LAN1 - the connection between port and LED on the front still is correct but not to this view. You even don't need to sort them because they are installed in this way on the backside.

In standard settings I have tested it with Ethernet1 - LAN4 is shown active - vice versa.

I'm using the router as Wireless Ethernet Bridge. So now I even have configured the VLAN-Settings because I wanted to use the WAN-port in the LAN (br0), too. It works well, but now the status even display it worse:

WAN is always active even with no device connected.
If I connect to Ethernet1 also only WAN is shown active
If I connect to Ethernet2 WAN and LAN4 is shown active
If I connect to Ethernet3 WAN and LAN3 is shown active.
If I connect to Ethernet4 WAN and LAN2 is shown active.
If I connect to Internet WAN and LAN1 is shown active.

The ports are working well but the shown result suprises me.
How can this behaviour corrected in the firmware?

Thank you.

OK - I'm in progress.

OK - I'm in progress.

The correct order for the port I got with “Invert Ports Order” - but the WAN port *is always shown as active* even if there isn't any connection.

I also found a way that the ntp request is proceeded correctly as “Wireless Ethernet Bridge” - therefore I needed a correct routing through the main Router - without the DHCP-client. (also needed for Ping and Trace-Tool)

I added the IP of the main-AP as “Default Gateway” and “Static DNS” and I enabled “Bridge WAN port to primary LAN (br0)” which is hidden with enabled “Wireless Ethernet Bridge”-setting,

On Advanced->DHCP/DNS I disabled “Use internal DNS” and I enabled “Use user-entered gateway if WAN is disabled”. I also enabled “Use received DNS with user-entered DNS” but I don't think that it has any influence.

Perhaps it could help somebody else.
