R7000 Kong Updates

Hi, I am using R7000 with the Kong firmware and happy for the most part. The firmware hasn't been updated since May this year. I am concerned about security with the firmware. Should I stay with Kong or go to Tomato? I have used Tomato on past routers and was happy with that.
