I just update the r8000 with the chk file but after it restart I cannot connect to 192.168.1.1. I even tried the reset button from the back few time but still I won’t see the router up when using ping and ipconfig it 192.168.1.1 and it is connect to laptop directly. Thanks
any help would be appreciated
Did you get this working? I am no expert with this but I recently started playing around with the USB-TTL cable attached as a console on the pins inside the router and it can be enlightening to see the bootup messages and be able to cancel the boot and get into CFE mode and send new firmware even if your web UI is not working. Of course it can also be a disaster and make a brick but it sounds like your router was pretty much hosed anyway, so not much to lose.
