I have a WNR3500L setup with DHCP with the latest netgear firmware installed. My connection drops constantly. I am only noticing drops with hardwired machines. Any ideas on what may be causing this issue?

You may have static in the cable line, simply unplug the cable then lick your finger (increase connectivity, or just use a peace of metal) and make a connection between the copper pin and the metal outside of the wire. The outside should be grounded to shield the signal and will remove any static in the line.
If that dont work, reset you cable box. If that dont do it, unplug it for 10 min.
If non of that works, then do a 30/30/30 second reset on the router.
The important thing is to do one at a time to find what the problem is so next time you will know exactly whats wrong ;)
I am having a similar problem. Last week I bought a WRN3500L to replace a
WRT54G that I've used with Tomato for several years without any problems. For
two days I used the new router with the default Netgear OS and didn't have any
problems. On Sunday I upgraded to tomato-K26USB-1.27.9045MIPSR2-beta11. All
appeared to be fine but later I noticed that wireless connections were being
dropped periodically, sometimes in groups and sometimes independently. The
problems seems to be with the wireless connections; the wired connections and
the WAN connection seem stable. Turning USB support on or off does not seem
to make a difference.
I'm still trying to look for patterns but don't have enough data yet. The log
file doesn't help; it just reports the negotiation of new DHCP leases after
the connections are dropped, but doesn't shed any light on why the drops
occurred.
Can anyone suggest any log files or other places to look to help find out why
the connections are being dropped? Is there a tool that might help?
