FTP bandwidth script

Hello,

I am currently using tomato 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-117 K26 USB VPN with a SMB share mapped to cifs1. I am sharing that over FTP LAN&WAN which is working well.

The issue is that I don't want to go crazy and use to much upload bandwidth and piss off my ISP.

I would like to implement a simple script that runs daily, hourly, whatever, that checks the monitored total monthly upload bandwidth for the router, and if it goes over a certain number (like 200GB for example) it will shut off the FTP until it resets back to zero, which would trigger it to turn back on.

Anyone doing anything like this currently? I do not know enough about Linux to implement this myself.
