iPhone 4 and Wireless-N

I have a WNR3500L with build 15000 of Kong's excellent modified DD-WRT.

While doing a sync over WiFi with my iPhone 4 I realized that I wasn't getting the speeds that I should with an "N" connection. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell with the iPhone what speed it's connected at. So to test it out, I changed my router to "N-only". My iPhone still could see the network, would prompt me for a password, but then immediately say "could not connect to network". Meanwhile, my 4 year old iMac could connect via WiFi just fine.

I'd like to test with the stock firmware, but trying to load that through dd-wrt failed.

Why would I be having this problem? How can I check with dd-wrt the speed that my devices connect at?

Thanks!

You can leave it in NG-Mixed

You can leave it in NG-Mixed mode unless you dual stream N mode (single stream N is 150Mbps dual stream 300Mbps). Not sure if the Iphone 4 supports dual stream N mode.

In webinterface under Status->Wireless you should see the connected speed.

Under Status->Wireless it

Under Status->Wireless it says that the "Rate" is 54 Mbps. How do I get it to be 150Mbps? Thanks!

If you have set it to NG

If you have set it to NG-Mixed it should already be above 54g. I guess that's why you had also problems connecting in N-only mode, because it cannot connect in N-mode.

The question is why?

-is it really a IPhone 4
-is the latest iOS installed
-incompatibility beetween the broadcom radio unit and iphone's unit

Unfortunately I have no IPhone 4, maybe someone else can share his experience.
