Issues with tomato 1.28

My router's been giving me connection trouble the last couple days, giving me high latency for no reason. So I decided to try changing the firmware and see if it'd help. I loaded on this firmware version: dd-wrt.v24-14929_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-WNR3500L and things were okay, but that was just a step to get this firmware installed: tomato-K26USB-1.28.7476MIPSR2-Toastman-RT-Ext

I read up on it, did 30-30-30 resets before and after each firmware upgrade, but after upgrading to toastman's tomato mod, I can no longer access the router nor the internet. The router went into an orange Power/LAN/ethernet-port-1 LED cycle after the last 30-30-30. I tried another 30-30-30 reset, and still no change. I tapped the WPS button 5 times for seemingly no reason, and now it's all lit up correctly, even throwing out wireless. But I'm not getting any internet connectivity (just local access) and 192.168.1.1 just takes me to a "timed out" page, with that try again button. I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 as my OS, and firefox as my browser. What can I do? I'd revert firmwares if the tomato mod was a problem, but I can't access my router in the first place.

Hi,

Hi,
This worked for me:

After doing that I installed dd-wrd and after that Toastman's Tomato.
Bye

This would not work, as I am

This would not work, as I am unable to access the router at all. The PC is connected to a network, but there is no internet activity and the router is inaccessible.

Thats why you have to short

Thats why you have to short the pins as described.

It doesn't go anywhere when I

It doesn't go anywhere when I use explorer.exe, neither firefox. IE wouldn't have been any different.

But oddly enough I was able to connect with my laptop, via wireless. Turns out DHCP needed to be enabled for the desktop to even see it while connected via ethernet cable. I ended up reverting back to stock netgear firmware though... Toastman's mod was very slow internet-wise. Seems to be working great for now.

Also what's a red WPS button? That'd be a nice trick to know, if 30-30-30 resets don't work.
