Login Issues

Ok having some issues with my WNR3500Lv1. I was running tomato on it perfectly fine but was having some issues with wireless speeds. I figured I'd flash back to stock and see if that made any difference or not. I was able to return to stock but the router won't allow me to login even after a hard reset. I even ordered a serial cable to see if reflashing it that way would work. Even flashing back to DD-Wrt or tomato is screwy. DDR will allow me to login once and after that won't accept a username even if I change it the first time I login. Tomato will allow me in but never prompts for username or password. I could run like this but have some access restrictions in affect that I don't want anyone to be able to change.

I have even used putty with the nvram get command to view the current username and password but entering those has no affect. Even tried writing a new username and password with the nvram set command and no dice either. I have tried multiple hard resets and even erasing device with putty and reflashing each of the firmwares but still having issues.

Here was initial procedure I followed when I started having issue...

Was running tomato so flashed dd-wrt with option to reset defaults

Telnet into router to use dd-wrt erase linux command

pushed stock firmware with tftp and upon first login it wouldn't let me in. Tired multiple hard resets with nothing.

So I ordered the serial cable and have attempted just about everything I can find but router won't let me login.... Any help would be appreciated!

Perform a reset .. it will

Perform a reset .. it will reset your login data to default.

For DDWRT firmware,
Default username : root
Default password : admin
For Tomato firmware,

Default username : admin
Default password : admin

I did resets all day long...

I did resets all day long... The only way I ended up getting it working was to pick use my serial cable and using Putty I issues the nvram erase command and once router rebooted it recognized the default username and passwork

You may be able to do this via telnet... Try nvram erase or erase nvram. Tomato was one command and ddwrt was the other. Sorry can't remember which way it was

I did this via putty and serial interface so not sure if it'll work via telnet but would think it would
