Howdy all,
I replaced a dead Linksys WRT54 with this WGR614. One of the things I could do with the WRT54 was limit my son's time accessing the internet via MAC address schedules. Much to my chagrin, when summer starts and I want to do MAC specific scheduling on this router, I find that it has no ability to do so.
Do any of the open firmware choices allow the ability to do MAC address scheduling?
Thanks
chris
Unfortunately, I would prefer to filter by MAC address. I would have to shift my entire network away from DHCP to accomplish this. My son (with the laptop) knows enough to change the TCP/IP address.
Thanks,
chris
If you are already using dhcp in your network, just apply a static dhcp route. This is connected to the mac address and your son gets always the same ip. After that you can schedule the internet access as decribed above. No need to reconfigure your whole network. Hope that helps.

DD-WRT supports MAC based scheduling, see: http://dd-wrt.com/demo/Filters.asp
If you have a WGR614L than you be able to get dd-wrt installed.
