N900 - WNDR4500 Wireless Disconnects

I recently got a Netgear N900, and was really excited about all of the advertised features straight out of the box.  I was replacing a Linksys WRT-54G, running DD-WRT, and that thing was bulletproof.

However, I'm discovering very quickly that the new Netgear is not as solid. I configured both the 2.4 and 5 ghz wireless networks, and all of my devices are able to connect to the router.  However, after a day or so, the 2.4ghz gets spotty (only one of my devices can recognize the 5ghz network).  My devices still show connected, but the wireless signal seem to be disconnected from the internet.  Occasionally, I'll load a web page and the basic text data will load without any graphics.  Other times - or other sites - simply won't load.  Rebooting the router seems to solve the problem.

This problem seems very similar to the one described about the 3800 here: http://www.myopenrouter.com/forum/thread/30986/Random-disconnects-from-I...

Is it the hardware or the firmware?  I'd love to upgrade back to the familiar DD-WRT interface, if it's working any better.
