Newb needs help

I flashed the "Special File" using the guide provided on this site.  I easily gave it 5 minutes but the router never rebooted.  Now I can't access it via my browser.  I am at a loss!  Is it bricked?  My wife will kill me...

Which Special file did you

Which Special file did you use?
Connect to the router by wire. Turn off the router. Push and hold down reset button, turn on the router and continue to hold the button down for 30 seconds.
Release the button and watch the lights to see what happens and if you can then connect.

I like the UI but the options

I like the UI but the options are overwhelming. I know there is a wiki but it needs some work. I'm a 40 year old noob to Linux and I know this can really make my router work but it is going to take some time for me to learn. Is there some place for tutorials that I am missing? Again, the wiki has a lot of info but most of it is over my head.
I read on Lifehacker there is a way to block ads at the router which I am going to try when I few minutes alone with the internet. But what else is there to do after I bump my signal strength? Also, creating a guest network needs to be a lot easier for noobs. And QoS too.
Those are just my initial thoughts but boosting signal and changing the channel were huge benefits.
Thanks!
Dave

It can be overwhelming for sure!
I don't know anything about lifehacker but they may just be blocking certain websites or keywords.
Sounds like you are on track though. Get everything working including wireless to the best you can before adding or tweaking things.

Lifehacker just wrote about

Lifehacker just wrote about it and linked to this: http://www.howtogeek.com/51477/how-to-remove-advertisements-with-pixelse...
It's almost 2 years old so I'm not sure what might have changed.
I hit YouTube and found some help on the guest network there.
