Problems trying to complete Entware install.

Hi. I've been following Voxel's readme, and various posts on this forum. I've got so far but now I'm stuck. I've formatted a USB stick as EXT4. I've untared the Entware..3x-initial.tar file in to /tmp/mnt/sda5, and I have the dirs autorun, entware L+F and swap. If I cd to /tmp/mnt then I have this;

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root            9 Jan  1  1970 optware -> /mnt/sda5
drwxr-xr-x    6 root     root         2048 Mar  1 01:00 sda5
 

If I try ls -l /opt/* as per the readme then I get "No such file or directory"

What have missed or not done that I should have?
