I have an extra R6300v1 and would like to use it as an access point for wireless only. What are the advantages of running DD-WRT on this unit, if any? I live in the country so external access to the wireless will be very limited.

I use DD-WRT due to the fact the it has DFS so all the channels work i'm using 52-58 & 100-106
the stock firmware is faster & better but without all the channels available it's useless
btw i'm in australia
