I was told by someone that all I needed to do was to use
openwrt-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx
as an upgrade from this page http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03.1-rc3/brcm47xx/
and use it on the upgrade firmware page on dd-wrt 192.168.1.1
is this true?
For which board are you upgrading? Is it WNR3500L?
Sorry. I'm referring to the WNR3500L.
Then you must have to download the .chk file for openwrt from this site (myopenwrt download section). Only this chk file can be uploaded on your board.

The problem is dd-wrt doesnt accept chk files for firmware.
