Hi,
I activated "boot wait" in the openwrt config, and it *seems* to work: I see two "ping windows" during router bootup. However, all my attempts to flash any firmware have failed (tftp timeout). I have two questions:
- has anybody successfully tftp flashed this router using openwrt 8.09?
- is it possible to flash stock firmware or dd-wrt mini from openwrt webinterface?
Can you please tell which router are you using?
- As per my knowledge, in case of "boot wait" it stays in upgrade mode for a very little amount of time, and the tftp request should be synchronised with this time. Make sure if it is happening your case or not.
- There is an alternative way to flash router using tftp, but that needs access to the router console using serial cable. In that case you have to run tftp demon on the router and then using tftp client you can flash the router using your desired image. I would suggest that its better to use serial console technique to upgrade firmware using tftp.
- Every third party firmwares should have the provision to upload stock firmware and most likely dd-wrt too through its webinterface.
Hi,
I have a WNR3500L. On the back it says 3500L/3500U but doesn't mention the version. I used 'dd' to dump the CFE and 'strings' outputs the following (so I guess it's a v2):
I read in another thread that the boot_wait feature only works when the firmware is bricked.
