Trouble in mount usb disk

I installed DD-WRT for NETGEAR WNR3500Lv2 Support Release 4-12-2012  on my WNR3500Lv2.

I want to set it as a tiny website for short videos, but the storage is obvious too small. I have connect to the unit with ssh.  and try out a html page in /www/user/index.html with linked on RAM ie.  /tmp

I try to mount a 4 GB usb disk, but it doesn't work. the unit even didnot recognize the usb disk. No info in the service->usb page. I tried google for same infomation but nothing solved this.

How to solve the usb storage issue?
