USB Storage automatically became readonly after several hours
Happened today again, it is annoying.
I used wget to download a big file, the downloading takes quite a long time, more than 30 minutes, then failed, error message was the output file is read-only.
I checked /opt/var/log/messages, no information.
Maybe the file was > 2GB (OpenWRT supports big files but not DDWRT)
fsck the drive attached to your desktop-PC or notebook. It may delete corrupted inodes.
If mounted with options rw,errors=remount-ro the drive might get remounted after reaching the 2 GB mark.
Official dd-wrt builds don't support >2GB files, but dd-wrt-kong-mod supports it. There is no service etc. in my build that would change the write permissions. This is probably done by the optware script or any app that comes through optware.
I did not download any file larger than 2G. I just use wget to keep downloading files from a FTP server, the odd thing is: the downloading speed will keep slow down, from 300K/s to 4k/s, then failed, because the partition became read-only!
Kong, please take a test, you will find this is really odd.
I am doubting maybe because the partition are mounted under /tmp/.
Kong, is there a way to change where automount mounts the partitions?
I attached a USB external hard drive, installed optware, and started automount service.
The router mounted all partitions under /tmp/ and all mounted partitions are writable, but after a while, a couple of hours, the partitions became readonly.
I restarted the router, the mounted partitions became writable, then a couple of hours later, they became read only.
I am using the latest kong DD-WRT firmware
Any idea?
