Use caution when upgrading to svn13832, svn13637 firmware for WNR3500L

We've been hearing via Twitter that some "scary" bugs are being reported in the newest BETA builds of DD-WRT firmware, which have been posted on the community.  These builds are built on svn13832 and 13637.

We're waiting to get a link to the specific conversation, but in the meantime, use these new firmwares (as with any third party or beta firmware) at your own risk.

If something happens to your router, you can follow the many guides we have here (including de-bricking your WNR3500L) to get back up and running.

In the meantime, I "downgraded" my WNR3500L to the v24 svn13309 version, which, while still BETA, is being pointed to automatically by DD-WRT's database:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database (You have to search for the WNR3500L)

You may or may not want to do this, but not being a DD-WRT "expert," I'm going to stick with the build that's being officially pointed to on the site, even though it is also a beta.

Does anyone know of any bugs with the v24 svn13309 version?

Always be careful when using

Always be careful when using beta-firmware. However i have tried both svn13637 and svn13832 on my 3500L without any problems. Now i use svn13823 :)

Its probably a good idea to read:

Thanks, that's a helpful link

Thanks, that's a helpful link you posted as well. Good to know that you aren't having trouble, but I'm wondering if the bugs are more security related? My original concern was from this Twitter post:

Those are BrainSLayer's

Those are BrainSLayer's versions. I typically stay with Eko's versions V34-K26 versions. But I have tried both 13832 and Eko's 13575 and have no probs with either.
I am running 13832 right now. But am using the Mini build if it makes a difference.
Eko's V24-K26 builds are here. http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?path=downloads%2Fothers%2Feko%2F...

13575 is the newest eko-build, there is no newer eko-build
13832 is the newest bs-build

@sigi - Looks like what you

@sigi - Looks like what you quoted from me isn't correct. I didn't say. "I have tried 13832 Eko's V24-K26 builds are here." "I said Those are BrainSLayer's versions. I typically stay with Eko's versions V34-K26 versions. But I have tried both 13832 and Eko's 13575 and have no probs with either.

Anyway. BS's Version "13832" Not Version "13823" is available where ghost123 says it is and Eko's 13575 version is whare I show it above.

Also just for fun I went to Eko's 13575 BIG bin today to run some other tests and it has been working fine so far.

Have been using BSs svn13832

Have been using BSs svn13832 since it was released without any problems so far. I'm using upnp which was a problem with erlier builds but work fine now. Regarding the security concerns i have scanned ports and non that's not supposed to be open is open. :)

I have not tested the USB-port yet.

Just wanted you to know.
