Using my old WNR3500 as a NAS-only box

My ISP just sent me a new box with the added functionality of telephony. So I have to use it Frown, but it lacks support for USB drive and NFS sharing. So I hope someone has some ideas on how to reconfigure it to become just a regular NAS box. It's running Tomato right now, but anything goes (as long as it works...)

Something similar as suggested at
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=43893

(It's the WNR3500Lv2 variant)

Oops, my initial post wasn't very clear on which "it" I want to use as a NAS, but it is my original WNR3500Lv2 that I want to reconfigure for this task.

And what is the "new" box, an

And what is the "new" box, an ISP branded router? does it has an ethernet switch on the back?
If it is like just plug it there, the ISP router will give you ip address for the tomato box, and from there configure the USB mounts and nfs shares.
If it doesnt have a switch then use the wireless bridge (asumming your isp router has wifi)

The new box is an ISP version

The new box is an ISP version of Zyxel P-2812. At first it was possible to configure it as a L2 switch, so I could continue with my tomato box unchanged. But the ISP did some update and also removed the possibility to get more than one IP address. But I didn't think of the possibility to have two layers of NAT.
Thanks for your suggestion!

The zyxel web page says it

The zyxel web page says it supports USB for file sharing, print and 3G. The file sharing I assume is samba if you can live with that.
I don't see a double nat, neither with the switch or wireless bridge. I May be wrong, I haven't played around with the bridge function for a while.
