WNDR3800 DD-RT two LAN subnet

Hi,

Changing my old WRT54G to 3500L and 3800, but with 3800 don't have the VLAN menu to create a separate LAN subnet on a dedicated rj45 entry. (this exist in 3500L)

Is it a hardware restriction ?

is it possible to use the "old method" thru nvram command ?

My version dd-wrt svn 19342

Hi,

Hi,

Thanks for replying ...

Old method in dd-wrt refer to use nvram command to separate one RJ45 Ethernet for the bridge, then create the second subnet (dhcp or not) then effectively doing iptables ...

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Switched_Ports
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/VLAN_Detached_Networks_%28Separate_...

On new brand ans V24sp2 ... we can use a direct menu VLAN to detach a Lan port from bridge, create a new vlan (dhcp or not) then use it to route to two subnet.

In fact I have 2 subnets with system on each with a router an each with an Internet access, BUT I want to direct connect locally the 2 subnets by simple routing and route in each target ...

I will do (thru menu) with my WRT54GL and WNR3500L and use the manual def. with my old WRT54GS ... unfortunately it is dead and I change to a WNR3800.

Thnks for this "special" help ... but can you imagine, that I don't want to leave DD-WRT, even if you want to promote OpenWRT ... ????

I also read your same response on DD-WRT forum ...

Please don't help us ... any more ...

This forum don't seems to help ... only to promote  ... OK ... bye.

apologize for the error ....

I am not promoting any

I am not promoting any certain firmware... you want port pased group switching? DD-WRT doesn't support it with Atheros based units, openwrt does... can you imagine if you want some feature that isn't supported in your current firmware that you may have to use another? You are right, i'll keep note of your nickname and ip and never will i try to help you in any post ever again.

Best Regards
