I have the Netgear WNR3500v2/U/L router with the firmware DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/23/10) std-usb-ftp - build 14311.
When I connect my USB hard drive to the router, my DSL connection (AT&T on a Motorola DSL) will immediately disconnect. It will continue to disconnect for a few seconds every couple of minutes until I disconnect the USB drive from the router. Once the USB drive comes off everything works fine. I've tried different USB drives and get the same problem. It was doing this before I flashed to the WRT when it was just the Netgear OS on the router right out of the box. It is still doing it now. Is this a hardware defect or is there some way to fix that? I can't find anything online pertaining to this problem.
