WPN824N and telnetenable

I recently had need of a span port from my router and was pretty delighted to find instructions for doing this. Telnetenable seems to work fine on my router, but I was wondering if there was a way to shut the open port afterward, especially since it just drops me into the root account... It seems like this is only accessible from the LAN, but I'd still feel more comfortable if there was a way to close the port afterward.
