OK, so this is weird. My R7000P had been running the KongMod firmware dated 5/31/18 for at least 4 months. I get home this evening and my daughter tells me her phone won't connect to WiFi. My phone connected, but on 2.4Ghz, not the usual 5Ghz connection. Looking at the router I see the LEDs don't look normal. The power LED is solid orange, the internet LED is flashing orange, the 2.4 LED is off, the 5 GHz LED is solid white.
I log in and see that the Router Model is reporting that it's a Netgear R6400 v1 - I'm 100% certain the hardware hasn't changed! The Firmware is reporting that it is 'DD-WRT v3.0-r37015M kongac (09/23/18)'. I'm also 1000% certain I didn't update the firmware. Automatic updates were enabled, so am I wrong to assume this is how the 'wrong' firmware got installed?
Any advice before I reflash to the correct firmware?
