Is tftp upload firmware type agnostic

I have R7000 and have installed a serial jack, That means I can easily get to the cfe> prompt and use tftp.

Do I need to use an intermediate/initial firmware with tftp or can I install the final firmwares directly?

So eg freshtomato has freshtomato-R7000-2022.5-initial-64K.zip download which contains a firmware

freshtomato-R7000-2022.5-initial-64K.chk

I wonder if I need to use this firmware when using tftp installation or whether I can use the final

freshtomato-R7000-ARM_NG-2022.5-AIO-64K.trx

directly.
