The R7000, one of the best all-around routers for network performance, features, and gaming was improved even further with the R7000P (also known as the R7000 Plus). The R7000P features MU-MIMO and Beamforming for faster simultaneous streaming as well as a host of other features.
Now -- it has DD-WRT open source firmware support as well.
Developer Tathagata Das has released his DD-WRT build for the R7000P based on rev30776. See the details and grab it from our Downloads section!

Awesome news! I found the chk file and downloaded it. I'm told I also need a bin file, though. Do you have information on that download?
Is this a good link for an outline for how to upgrade the 7000P with DD-WRT?

Does this build support the MU-MIMO and beamforming feature?
Also, do you use the same procedures to flash the stock firmware back?
This version does not contain the LED controls. It is stable as far as I can tell but I have noticed a slowdown on the LAN side.. Had to terminate testing due to other reasons.
I had no problem flashing back to the latest stock version. Remember to do a 30-30-30 reset before the flash back and after.
My R7000 is already on Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r28444 std (12/05/15, do I need to back to factory to use K3_R7000PLUS_13-Apr-2017.chk. every time I go to upgrade It counts backwards from 299 and reboots at 297 and doest not upgrade

Hi. Is the April 2017 build the most recent stable one? I also see a November 2017 build. Which should I go with - flashing the R7000P from stock. Thank
Jay
Jay, which did you end up flashing? There is a Feb 2018 build as well. Interested to hear which is stable and also whether the newest one has fixed the lack of 5Ghz control as some have mentioned for the Nov 17 build.
