Running an Asus RT-N16 with Kong 22200M build, and I can't get my wireless clients to connect at high speeds.
Can't seem to get higher rate than 65Mbps as shown in the wireless status tab in DD-WRT and Task Manager on the clients.
Settings changed from default are:
- NG Mixed
- Channel 1
- 20 MHz
- Ack timing 0
- WPA2 Personal
- AES
- CTS disable
- Preamble short
- Shortslot Override short
- "wl -i eth1 interference 2" on startup
I used inSSIDer to select channel 1, which was the best Link Score for my neighborhood.
SNR varies from 25-35 with the client about 30 feet away in the next room.
How can I improve speeds?
Your clients are probably single stream wireless devices like mobile phones etc. around 65mbps is ok for those devices under these circumstances.
"wl -i eth1 interference 2" I don't recommend that setting with the latest build unless you have tested, that it works better by doing a long term test.
Using an HP ProBook 4540s with an Atheros AR9485 built-in wireless. 22200M looks like it defaults to interference 4 mode. When mode 4 is enabled, the SNR dips down to about 24. When mode 2 is enabled, the SNR stays around 35.
If not this build, what build do you reccomend as the best build for the RT-N16?
