Need your advice on using the R7000 as firewall / 1:1 NAT

Hi Guys ,
Hope I'm not breaking any rules asking this question.
I have a router from my ISP which is configured as DHCP (its also have landline phone output) and I must keep using that router.
The ISP block the firewall access in the router so I was recommaneded to put a router with firewall before the ISP's router (I'm using fiber optic connection so I have lan adapter before the router).

currently I have R7000 which was flushed with DD-WRT long time ago with DD-WRT v3.0-r37015M kongac (09/23/18)

Would you recommand me keep using this firmware or flush to something else if all I need is firewall and 1:1 NAT ?

Thank you guys !!!
Awsome forum :-)

Either run the R7800 in

Either run the R7800 in router mode with a firewall and put the R7800 IP address it gets from the FW into it's DMZ or use the R7800 in AP mode.
