r6400v1 bad flash using wrong back-to-ofw version

Hi All,

After a weekend of bricking, un-bricking and re-unbricking I think i've just shot myself royally in the foot...

Basically, I wanted to get to stock so used the back-to-ofw images available, except that stupidly, instead of selecting the r6400-to-ofw .trx file, i chose the R7000-to-ofw and it should got on with it, rebooted and then magically it came up with the R7000 firmware.. only then did i realise my error.

I was able to flash back to a lower version of the actual r6400 but now the router is behaving weirdly, it would re-flash and any chk i select in the stock UI reports "

This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product.

I can't get the TFTP method to work and all MAC addresses in the UI now report as 00:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF for all interfaces..

Does anyone have a fixed image that has the model check removed as I suspect that may one method to override the checks stopping the flash..

Or have I lost my router forever and can bin it?

TIA

A

I reverted back to stock

I reverted back to stock firmware from KONG Mod dd-wrt.  I tried using the most recent .chk file from Netgear and was not successful, still booted up to dd-wrt.  Trying different things, even the TFTP method, the only thing that returned my R6400v1 back to stick was using the oldest firmware from Netgear.  This file was shown as Initial on the Netgear support site.
