I presume that NETDUMA and NG have specifically set this up on the newer HW for this model router for a specific reason and support reasons as well. This router has a specifc target and also NG probably doesn't want to support the older HW of the R7800. There are similarities however when it comes down to it, it's all how the code and the newer HW are implemented. NG and NetDuma probably want to focus and keep development on track with what they decided to come up with. IT's all up to them. Maybe one day they might open up, however it's there call. For now. It's the XR500 only.

UI. You just need to re-configure it from scratch because settings will reset.

Ok, i'll give this a go. Should I want to go back to stock or Voxels FW, I presume I can do the same in reverse and just load the FW file in the UI and do a factory reset?

Also can we update using new updates for the XR500 or will they need to be tuned for the R7800 each time theres an update for the XR500?

Installed it this morning. Put it online this evening. Looking good so far. Running well. I have the radios disabled for now as I have to use a different wireless system. DHCP and reservations seems a bit quirky when I connected the rest of my network after a reboot. Not sure if this is odd behavior in the services or what. Just seeing odd behaviros when setting up a reservation. Also notice that the list of detected items doesn't seem to list all my connected devices, however this could be that I have some connected thru a wireless AP via LAN to LAN. I'll have to find some time to take the other wireless system offline an connect everything to the XR7800 and test more. Other than this, UI is good. Able to do everything that the XR500 does. Going to enjoy this I hope. I wish I could have been able to keep the XR500 I had however money is tight. This will be a nice work around to play with. 

NAT Filter as Secure and Open and for NG routers OPEN is preferred for two or more game console behing the same router.

Hope we can easily go back to stock FW as well with out any problems if needed. I presume we can. Hope XVortex can let us know about future updates. Would be a great 2nd recommendation behind Voxels FW for the R7800. 

Thanks for the update. I'm surprised you rank it #2, behind Voxel FW. I would think it should be better since it took netduma 2 years to develop it. Does the geo filter work? What about QoS? Isn't that broke on NG FW and Voxels?

I like how Voxel handles the back end packaged on his FW. Seems to keep things up to date and more to spec with packages. NG kind fails here. There are some broke items on the R7800 FW, however this is NG core code that Voxel doesn't or can't change. These fixes have to come from NG. Setting a static IP address for AP mode is broke also. Waiting for NG to fix this and other issues. I haven't been able to test Voxels recent v50 build yet. Seen some other posting about it in the SNB thread there. Last best working version is v37 or v38 I believe IMO.

I presume for now, there isn't any issues or should be any issues seen. If there is, I presume should mirror actual XR500 problems if there is any. I can only repeat: Pirate version. Hacked latest binary firmware for XR500. Is not built from source codes. So there should be the same issues as in stock working on original XR500. Plus this version uses binary samba extracted from my 1.0.2.50SF. So samba should be fast ;-)

Well considering the HW is pretty much the same. Don't see any issues. If the Id is the only thing changed and maybe a package updated, seems to be working fine with the modified FW file. I presume at some point maybe a full build would be desired.

It looks like the DumaOS has the Smart Connect (band steering) feature enabled that R7800 stock OS does not have.

Netgear beta tested the XR500 firmware on the R7800, so no surprise it works with a few tweaks.

The version is the most current one from NG support site. Same version.

xVortex will have to tune each FW version as they come out...

Seems not to work when its in AP mode cant login then works only in Router mode.

How do i restore FW now it would not take Voxel or NG FW?

Sorry, there are some checks in dumaos fw that prevents to back to 1.x.x.x fw.

Here is the solution. Just unzip it and flash it from the GUI and it brigs You to the R7800-V1.0.2.46 stock fw.
