WN Series Open Source Firmware

Installed DD-WRT, no wireless, want to go back to original firmware...

when I try to upload the Netgear wgr614l_1_1_2_1_0_23_na.chk, or when I try to upload tomato from the dd-wrt Administration Firmware Upgrade screen. I get a 'incorrect image file' error message, all firmware was downloaded from the myopenrouter.com site. How do I go back to the original Netgear firmware?

My problem with dd-wrt is that I cannot connect to the wireless network at any level of security, WPA2 Personal, WPA, or no security. The wireless is enabled, but no client connection.

ugh.

I could use a little clarification...

I've been doing some searching and I still can't find the difference between the WGR614L and the WGR614v8, and the earlier versions aren't mentioned much either.

I have the WGR614v7 and is it safe to run tomato or DD-WRT?

Thanks

What about more powerful and competetive version of router so dev's can have real fun? :)

What about more powerful version where community development model can truly shine? Wink

One of competitors has something like 32Mb RAM, 8Mb Flash, 264MHz CPU, 2xUSB 2.0 ports on board. At ~$90...$100price tag.

DD-WRT Firmware on WGR614 v6

Can I install that firmware on my old router - WGR614 v6

A couple of questions

I have been hoping to find a router such as this for quite a while but I have a few questions if anyone 'in the know' would be so kind to answer them...

1. Is the hardware/firmware capable of supporting jumbo frames?  (I am thinking 'no' since it is only 100mbit)

2. Is there a limit on the number of ports that I can configure in the Port Forwarding section?  If so, what is the limit?

I love this concept. Here's why I won't be buying one.

HI,

This is my frst post here. I've just come across this product. I can't say enough how great I think it is that you guys are actually marketing an open router. I REALLY want this to succeed as a product because a big success here will send a very positive message to all other equipment manufacturers out there, about the reality that opensource and home developers/experimenters do exist as a larger group than they realise, and we are worth providing products and support for.

What is the output power for the WGR614L ?

Hi!

Netgear did it again. After the WGT634U, that was very successful for Roofnet free Wi-Fi project, there comes the WGR614L with a nice potential for community networking.

Unfortunately, i could not find its output power. the WGT had 100 mw, aka 20 dBm. Does the WGR614L sports the same power ?

All the best,
hilton

WGR614v7 enable super g?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place but

i did the telnet enable on my router and in the wla section there is a command? called set super g. i was just wondering if this would work or if it would break something?

btw i know this is kinda stupid asking in a forum run by the company but all well

Rebranding/Repackaging/Reselling a WGR614L

I am wondering if one would be legal to develop software for this device, then completely rebrand  (perhaps changing the enclosure) and resell it as a different product?

 Any thoughts?
