WN Series Open Source Firmware

Hi ,

I have downloaded the tomato firmware from this site and I have compiled it following the instructions mentioned into the blog. However when I run this compiled image I have found that the wireless module is not working. I searched for the available APs from a wireless client but unable to find any AP with SSID "wireless". Can anybody please look into this issue?

I have the following  problem with my router wgr614;

when i triy to connect to my wireless router,  i first see on my laptop a lot of wireless routers/connections but not my netgear, sometime i takes 5 to 10 minutes and  there he is.... but most of the time he isn't visivble. I restart the router and my laptop also, sometimes it works but most of the tiime the router is not visible. I tries another laptop but same problem. What could be the problem? other firmware,settings, channel? or is the router broken? Please advice, regards, Reinoud

How is it done? what size Torx screw is it?

Does the serial console cable need to be soldered in or is it a jumper block that I just plug it into?

 I bricked my router and I'm trying to recover it...the power light stays on steadily then starts blinking, I can't ping the router, I can't view the router config page, the test light doesn't blink, or go off anymore, so I think I can recover it with the serial console cable.

 Speaking of which, anyone know where I can get a good deal on one?

Hi all,

I was trying to upload DD-WRT image to the 614L board. I was trying to upload using tftp. But whenever I upload an image I got some checksome error. I have tried to upload the netgear image also and surprisingly observed the same result. The error message is like that  -

I am wondering if it is possible to set the signal gains or frequency of the rounter via the driver or provided software interfaces? the reason I ask this question is that I want to do some study to test router/antennas performances under difference shielding conditions. I want to measure the signal variations due to the presence of shielding or obstacles.
